Mrs. Baker’s new a.m. recess running club is off to a great start.  A number of students from Grades 3 to 6 are participating each a.m. recess and have already ran several kilometers each.


Manitoba Hydro presents to Gr. 4-6 Students

A representative from Manitoba Hydro presented to the Gr. 4-6 students on the envrionmental benefits of the new CFL bulbs.  Working with Manitoba Hydo, our Gr. 4-6 students will also be delivering bulbs to homes in the nieghbourhood over the next couple of weeks.


456B Earth Day Art

Today students in Mrs. Baker’s Grade 456 class were working on their art projects for Earth Day.  By mixing powdered paint and white glue, the students painted sheets of overhead transparency.  Once dry their creations will be hanging their creations in the windows of their classrooms where they will allow light to filter through similar to a stained glass window.

ArtsSmarts Continues!

Grade 6 students are working on their puppets this a.m. in ArtsSmarts.  This afternoon the Grade 4 students will continue to work on their puppets as well.  ArtsSmarts sessions with all K-6 classes will conclude this Thursday.

Miigwech Ms. Copence-Bell!

We would like thank Ms. Copence-Bell for working with our Grade 4-6 students in the Aboriginal Awareness Classes.  The classes were for 3 weeks and exposed students to aboringial traditions, history, culture and language.  Student also created their own medicine wheels and dream catchers.  Miigwech Ms. Copence-Bell!


Welcome Mr. Masson

Please welcome Mr. Ardin Masson from Brandon University to our school.  Mr. Masson is a student teacher who will working with Mr. Scott, teaching K-6 Physical Education and Grade 5 & 6 Health.  This is Mr. Masson’s final student teaching placement and he will be working with our students until the end of April.

ArtsSmarts sessions resume today for our classes.  Students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2 and 2/3 start to make their puppets this morning and afternoon.  They did an amazing job on their masks so we are looking forward to see the work that they do on their puppets.

This morning we are happy to welcome Edmonton Eskimo defensive back Willie Amos to our school.  Mr. Amos will conducting a workshop with our school Jump Rope 4 Heart Demo Team for part of the morning.  We will then have an assembly for the entire school at 11:30 a.m.  This afternoon our Demo Team will travel to Ecole Arthur Meighen School to continue their workshop with Mr. Amos and students from other schools.  This is a wonderful opportunity for our students.  Special thanks go out to Mr. Amos, our physical education teacher Mr. Scott, and Mrs. Newman of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba for arranging this activity for our students.
